HOW TO ACHIEVE THE PUTTING STROKE OF A TOUR PROFESSIONAL


The professional golfer and good amateurs will spend many hours practicing their putting – going for specialist training and using all kinds of training aids. This works for them but how many of you have had a top quality putting lesson? My first piece of advice is – Have a putting lesson and you will save yourself stroke after stroke.

Most of the putting stroke is ‘feel’ and judgement. Get these correct and your putting stroke will be improving. The way to achieve feel is by closing the eyes and just making the stroke. How different is your stroke when you do this? Can you feel things happening that you could not have done with your eyes open – we are beginning to get feel. You are also using other learning styles to aid improvement. Imagine the difference when you do this?
