Whatsthescore.co.uk was created in the latter months of 2009.

Andy and Kevin Gray are brothers from Yorkshire and have a background in IT programming and Pharmaceutical sales respectively.

Where did the idea come from?

This year after an impressive 4 under on day 1 of Captains day (a 2 day competition) at Chorlton Cum Hardy Golf Club, Andy was desperate to know where he was positioned going into the final day. After numerous unsuccessful phone calls he had to go down to the course to see the leader board pinned to the wall!

He was 2nd going into the final day, however, on leaving the course his light bulb moment happened and he questioned himself to how this information could be communicated more effectively: WhatsTheScore.co.uk was born (in case you're interested he had a very average round on day 2 and finished 8th!)

How did the idea evolve?

On hearing the idea, Kev agreed that this new way of sharing results and information could bring the club together and provide a medium for improved communication.

Kev set about writing the business plan and promoted the idea to all our members and tested the water with other clubs in the area. Most people agreed there were advantages of the website, hence we have invested lots of time and brain strain on getting to this stage.

The website is continually evolving and we are striving to improve it's functionality every day.
