Brookdale Golf Club
Brookdale Golf Club welcomed the Alliance for the betterball stableford event and provided the weather and the course conditions worth of a full field.
The event this week sponsored by Phil Aitken of Adams Golf.
The top individual Professional was Swinton Parks Dave Smith who carded a 37 Point score and also claimed third place in the Pro-Am section with his Swinton Park playing partner Jimmy O'Reilly with a score 40 Points
Just a point behind the pairing of Graham Cox from Davenport and Ashton-on-Mersey's Paul Crisp.
The winning pair in the Pro-Am section coming from Cheadle Golf Club also coming home with 41 Points John Sisson and Anthony Miller the cpo going in favour of the Cheadle pairing
The Am-Am section was no less competitive and a host of great scores were recorded on the day but out on their own with 41 Points the Blackley pairing of Arthur Tattersall and Clive Barratt taking the first prize from the Stamford pairing of Tony Smith and Ian Trow.
Alliance regulars of Julian Robinson and Alan Lane holding onto third place on 38 Points.

Buckets Of Points At Alsager
A FULL Manchester Alliance field were again frustrated by a heavy overnight frost as the arctic weather saw the excellently prepared greens at the testing Alsager course ruled out of play.
The temporary greens had a pleasantly smooth surface and with bucket holes in operation there were plenty of high scores to produce a very tight finish.
In the individual pro section Tim Maxwell (Knutsford) gathered bucket loads of points ending with a gross 62 and 44 points finish one ahead of Anthony Millar (Cheadle), Graham Cox (Davenport) and life member Denis Durnian (Chorley).
The pro am section saw four pairs locked on 50 points with Anthony Millar and his Cheadle partner James Hodges winning the countback from David Green (Dukinfield) and Joel King (Denton), Graham Cox and Fraser McLachlan (Davenport)and Alan Crompton and John Egan (Haigh Hall).
It also needed a cpo in the am am division to sort out the prize order with Swinton Park’s deadly duo of Nev Dennis and Jimmy O’Reilly getting the nod from Alan Pengelly (Shrigley Hall) and Rob Skelmilt (Alsager) and Graham leach and Bob Francis (Shrigley Hall) after all three pairs tied on 49 points.
